How We Test & Document Our Research Materials
What we require before a research peptide is listed, which independent laboratories test it, what each test measures, and how you can verify a certificate yourself.

Our specification
| Purity | ≥ 98% by reverse-phase HPLC |
|---|---|
| Identity | Confirmed by mass spectrometry (LC-MS): observed mass matches the expected molecular mass |
| Content | Measured amount per vial reported against the label amount |
| Form | Lyophilized powder in sealed vials |
| Documentation | CAS number, molecular formula, molecular weight and sequence published on every product page |
What we require from suppliers
Before we order, every supplier receives our written certificate requirements:
- A certificate of analysis or analytical report for the material supplied, identifying the material, the lot or batch tested and the testing laboratory
- HPLC purity as an actual percentage, with the chromatogram
- Mass spectrometry identity with expected and observed mass
- Net content (measured mg per vial)
- Endotoxin and sterility results where available
- Test date and the name of the testing laboratory, with independent third-party labs preferred
Independent laboratories
Certificates currently on our site were issued by these laboratories:
- Optiq Health Labs (Santa Ana, CA): identity, assay, purity, endotoxin and sterility; some reports add yeast & mold, residual solvents and heavy metals
- Janoshik Analytical: content and purity, with an online verification key
- Kovera Labs: purity, net content, identity, chromatogram; some reports add endotoxin and sterility screens
- SteriGenix: identity, batch purity and net peptide content
- Freedom Diagnostics and Analytical Formulations: purity testing for selected lots
What each test measures
| RP-HPLC purity | Separates the sample and reports the main peak as a percentage of all detected material |
|---|---|
| LC-MS identity | Confirms the molecular mass matches the expected compound |
| Assay / net content | The measured amount of peptide in the vial |
| Endotoxin (LAL) | A standard laboratory screen for bacterial endotoxin |
| Sterility (USP <71>) | A standard laboratory screen for microbial growth |
| Residual solvents, heavy metals | Screens for manufacturing residues (GC-MS, ICP-OES) |
Our documentation policy
Verify a certificate yourself
Don’t take our word for it. Most laboratories print a sample ID, report number or verification key and a QR code on each certificate. Use it on the laboratory’s own website to view the original report and compare the lot, date and results.
Frequently asked questions
Who tests your research materials?
Certificates on our site come from independent analytical laboratories, currently Optiq Health Labs, Janoshik Analytical, Kovera Labs, SteriGenix, Freedom Diagnostics and Analytical Formulations. We do not run in-house testing.
How does a certificate relate to the material I receive?
Every incoming research material is received with its corresponding supplier documentation where applicable. Progressive Bioscience reviews that documentation against the product identity, specification and material received before inventory is released for sale. Certificates of Analysis and analytical reports are maintained as part of our product documentation and published where applicable. For questions about the documentation for your order, email contact@progressivebioscience.com with your order number.
What purity do you require?
98% or higher by HPLC, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry.
How can I verify a certificate myself?
Most laboratories print a sample ID, report number or verification key and a QR code on the certificate. Use it on the laboratory’s own website to view the original report.
